The “Tale of a Warrior Princess”
By Kristen Murphy
Once upon a time in a far away land, a warrior princess was born.
Before coming into existence, she accepted a challenge that required her to sign a contract. The contract stated that she would not be foretold of her mission. She would enter into a state of amnesia. She was assigned the task to remember it before she could carry it out. She would be destined for great things. She had a very big job to do. She was here to heal the world. She knew all of her power and how magical she truly was. She knew that separation and fear was all an illusion. The contract stated that she would forget all of this as a part of her mission. She’d face many great challenges. In order to achieve her destined greatness, she’d have to break the spell of forgetfulness that was cast upon her.
Once the spell was broken, she’d reconnect to source. She’d remember who she was.
While on the journey, in her state of amnesia, she was followed by chattering monkeys. They were relentless. There were thousands of them and they constantly tried to distract her from her journey. They were not malicious beings. They were simply lost, trying to guide her. But they made it even more difficult to navigate her path.
Unfortunately she did come across a few evil monsters along the way. These were big, ugly creatures who attempted to harm her. These were never as easy to fight off. Whenever she encountered them, they left an energetic residue that caused her to become even more forgetful of her journey. The residue gave her a heavy armor shield.
She carried it for many years. She struggled to put it down because she believed that it had actually been protecting her. That’s because she had actually been deceived by these monsters.
The most deceptive ones did not appear as monsters. They presented as helpers who were there all along her journey. These were much harder to detect. Sometimes she knew in her gut that they were not as they appeared, but the monkeys that surrounded her told her otherwise. They were called tricksters.
She carried on for several years of her journey trusting these tricksters.
After decades of being followed by the monkeys, the monsters, and being deceived by the tricksters, she was deep in amnesia. She felt pretty content because she didn’t know she was being deceived by the tricksters. It was like being fed steak after eating insects her entire life. She was happy eating insects because she didn’t know steak existed. The tricksters were similar.
She did always feel deep down that something may be “off” with these tricksters but again the monkeys convinced her they were just fine.
Then one day a bunch of these tricksters started to become more like the monsters. She felt confused and scared. She had recognized all the monsters but the tricksters were not easily recognized.
As she started to see that these tricksters were also monsters, she got scared and ran away. It was dark and very lonely.
She found herself all alone. Shadow people were everywhere. She tried to yell that the monsters and tricksters were all the same! But no one believed her.
People laughed at her. People stopped talking to her. People threatened her and told her she was crazy.
As she navigated the dark path, some days, it felt endless. She encountered more tricksters along the path who tried to convince her that they would save her if she followed them. She was led astray many times but always ended up back on the path.
One day she couldn’t see any light at all. It was so dark that she fell to her knees in defeat. She cried out, “there’s no more light. Only darkness”.
Then she heard a little voice. It whispered. “You are the light who will guide the way for those warriors to come behind you. But you have to trust me and release the armor.”
She had no idea what the voice meant, but she followed it because it was the only source of hope that she’d seen for miles. She didn’t want to release her armor yet but was happy to have encountered the voice. She still didn’t remember her mission and wasn’t even aware there was a mission at that time.
The further along she traveled, she noticed his heavy the armor that she felt. She knew she would have to leave it behind, but was afraid. Remember, She had believed that it was protecting her.
When she couldn’t carry it any further into the journey, she slowly started to drop pieces of the armor. Every time she dropped a piece, she grieved. It got dark and scarier right after more armor fell off. But she noticed something strange began to happen.
Every time she lost another piece of armor, she received more guidance from the unknown voice.
The guidance she’d receive allowed her to continue along the dark road. She also started to meet other unknown warriors as she unloaded the armor. The monkeys even started to disappear. One by one.
As she continued to travel, now with a lighter load, meeting her fellow warriors along the path, she started to slowly remember her contract. She started to trust the voice, which gave her more magic. She started to remember that her destiny was to guide the others back to their voice by releasing their heavy armor.
She watched with silent joy as they too were reclaiming their magic.
Moral of the story:
If you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel yet, just please keep going. You just may be a warrior. 😉
